No. No I’m sorry but I won’t have anything bad said about Ty-Lee over this. This is the whole point of her story. Born as one of seven identical sisters she had no sense of identity of her own. She then fled to the circus thinking the attention of others would give her a personality. When Azula came knocking she was soon pressured into following her again, just as she had done when she was a child.
When she wore the Kyoshi Warrior overalls it was because she chose to - it was her own decision. Not something she was born into or pressured to do or to seek the approval of others. It may have been a uniform but it was one with a fully fledged individual inside of it. It was part of who she wanted to be. Not what anyone else wanted.
That’s the point of being an individual.
